Geography: The French-speaking population of Eastern Ontario is generally located within 25 kilometres of the Ottawa River and stretches from our nation’s capital to Hawkesbury and also includes the city of Cornwall on the shores of the Saint-Lawrence River.

Population: There are over 500,000 Franco-Ontarians. Approximately 240,000 of them live in Eastern Ontario.

Economy: The cities of Ottawa, Hull and Gatineau provide much of the region’s employment for the Federal government, in the high-tech industry and in the service sector. Agriculture and small industries are also important in Eastern Ontario.

Ministry: There are three churches reaching Franco-Ontarians. The churches in Orleans and Casselman are financially autonomous, while the one in Cornwall is a supported work led by missionaries Royal and Thérèse Désormeaux

Please pray for:

  1. The progress of the mission work at Cornwall under the leadership of Royal and Thérèse Désormeaux
  2. An effective outreach to the towns of Rockland, Alfred and L’Orignal.
  3. The church at Orleans, currently without a pastor.
  4. The church at Casselman under the leadership of Pastor Julien Laramée.
