After moving to New Brunswick in May 1996, Alain and Jacinthe met with pastor Weldon Clark. Rev. Clark had been sharing the gospel in the Grand Sault, New Brunswick region since his retirement 10 years earlier and had been praying for the Lord to send a missionary couple to lead the small group of believers there. The Ringuettes were the answer to his prayers.
Église Évangélique Baptiste de Grand Sault was born on November 2, 1997 and held it's first meeting with three families on November 9. Since then the group has grown to about 50 people. In 2005 ten believers were baptized and in 2006, seven more followed.

Alain and Jacinthe were married in the fall of 1985 in an unusual triple wedding ceremony. Jacinthe's two sisters and their boyfriends, who had also given their lives to the Lord, were married at the same time. This event was a beautiful testimony to the community.
After being childless for twenty years, the Lord led them to adopt a brother and a sister in 2005. Austin was four and Christy was two.

Background: |
Alain was born into a non-practicing Roman Catholic family in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec. Jacinthe grew up in a devout Roman Catholic family in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick.
In July 1973, Alain's family moved to New Brunswick. Upon finishing high school, Alain wanted to study music at university, but instead circumstances led him to study electronics in college. There he began "hanging out" with a group of musicians. He became so fascinated with music that he decided to quit college in order to get a job to purchase a bass guitar. He joined a rock band that practiced every day. After three years, the group began touring regionally and provincially. Alain's love for music continued to grow, along with his pride.
Alain and the band’s drummer, Gilles, each decided to purchase a Bible. Their goal was to find passionate, original topics to write a new style of "heavy metal" music. However, God had other plans. After a year of reading the Bible, their lives, thoughts, and moral values began to change. This caused the band to split up. After meeting a Baptist pastor while hitchhiking Gilles was converted.
Gilles began witnessing to Alain via letters, sharing with him that Jesus could change his life. At the same time, Gilles was witnessing to Alain’s girlfriend Jacinthe in New Brunswick and she accepted the Lord as her Saviour. A short time later, Alain received a letter from Gilles with Revelation 3:20 written on the outside of the envelope. This verse spoke to Alain and he finally understood that Jesus was knocking at the door of his heart. He confessed his sins and asked the Lord to forgive him in the fall of 1984.
Shortly after their marriage in 1985, Alain and Jacinthe found work in Rimouski. Once there they came into contact with another Christian couple and they became founding members in Église Baptiste Évangélique de Rimouski. Alain and Jacinthe remained in Rimouski until 1993.

Alain and Jacinthe started a business in retail trade that allowed Alain to study at SEMBEQ and serve in their local church.
