The
Beauchamps began their ministry at the
French Fellowship Baptist Church in
Valleyfield in September 2001 on a part-time
basis, and became full time in August
2002. Under their ministry the Valleyfield
church has stabilized and grown. Twenty
baptisms took place in 2004-2005, including
the Beauchamps’ three children. |

| Spiritual
Background: |
Robert
grew up in a loving Roman Catholic family.
In 1976, during his first year in college,
Robert heard the Gospel for the first
time from evangelist Guy Lavoie, who
was leading a student group at the college.
Using Scripture, Guy patiently answered
Robert’s questions on Catholicism,
evolution and the meaning of life. Although
Robert realized that the Word of God
was true, he had difficulty accepting
that he was a sinner. Through conversations
with Guy and reading the New Testament,
Robert understood that the cause of
the emptiness in his life was his own
sin separating him from God. He became
a Christian on December 9, 1976. |
| Ministry
Experience: |
Soon
after his conversion, Robert had the
desire to serve the Lord in ministry.
Following his university education,
Robert became a servant-in-training
under Jacques Alexanian in the Gatineau
church and pursued theological training
with SEMBEQ. Following Pastor Alexanian’s
departure from Gatineau, Robert served
as pastor there for eight years.
Later, the Beauchamps moved to the Montreal
area to minister at the French Baptist
Church in Ahuntsic. After serving there
for four years, Robert was out of full-time
ministry for a few years. He became
an elder in Laval-Est and did pulpit-supply
for several churches before being called
to serve permanently in Valleyfield. |
